My family

I never met my paternal grandfather as he died over 20 years before I was born.

Here's a picture of him - James Brian Griffiths with his lovely wife Margaret Ann who I do remember..

James was seriously ill in the winter of 1927 and died on Good Friday 1928.
Here is a letter from Mrs Greenway who I believe was his landlord.  She was over- wintering in Nice - which looks a very nice place indeed and a very nice hotel too.
She was sufficiently concerned to write in December. 
Was she concerned about the rent?    We'll never know. 
I'll opt for her showing the milk of human kindness for the time being
