Sport

At last the 2012 LONDON Olympics is over.

My daily newspaper can now drop its outside cover poster, its daily supplement and its many pages of news about medals and flames etc etc.  It may be thinner.

I drove along yesterday listening to BBC Radio Four and the presenter was discussing with someone from LOCOG and Tani Grey Thompson their respective retrospective views of the 2012 London  Olympics.

Suffice to say there was much enthusiastic talk about the legacy, the new view of disabled people, the brilliant volunteers, the ability of the UK to put on a show, the tremendous haul of medals and the outstanding performances of athletes of all persuasions.

Why do I have the impression that this is only one side of the debate?

Should the Beeb have invited someone on who might have a valid counter view?

Are there people who think that too much media attention was paid to this event, too much money was spent or that too much damage was done to normal economic activity?

Or is it only me?
